Winston arrived in his foster home and settled in. He is a gentle, affectionate, deeply people‑oriented boy who soaks up attention and gives it right back. If you’re looking for a dog who wants to be near you, learn from you, and make you proud, Winston is that dog.

🌟 His Personality

Winston is wonderfully well‑behaved and eager to please. He has had no accidents in his foster home and responds immediately when told “no.” He’s smart—really smart. When asked if he was ready for bed, he walked straight to the bedroom, climbed into his crate, and lay down. He sleeps quietly through the night and settles easily.

He loves meeting people and has already charmed friends in the neighborhood

🐾 His Dog Manners

Winston walks nicely on a leash and enjoys his daily outings, especially the evening walk with a bit of an incline. He is still learning his new neighborhood—but he’s polite and responsive.

🍖 Food, Treats, and Training

Winston is very treat‑motivated, which makes training a joy. He’s currently eating the amount recommended by the vet and is thriving with structure, walks, and attention. He has a few pounds to lose, and he’s already on the right path.

🚗 A Good Traveler

Winston rides in a car calmly in a soft carrier and enjoys his rides.

🛋 A Companion Through and Through

Winston wants to be close. He’ll curl up beside you on the sofa or settle in a chair near you. He greets new people with warmth and has been lovely with every visitor he’s met.

Please note: Because of their size, our dogs are not suitable for homes with children under 5.

We do not have a physical facility — all of our dogs live in loving foster homes.
Lil’ Paws is a small, all-volunteer organization. To best use our limited time and resources, we are only able to correspond with individuals who have submitted an adoption application from our website.

If you would like to visit with our dogs and their fosters, you might plan to attend our Meet and Greet Events which are held on the first Saturday of each month at the Pet Supplies Plus in Round Rock from noon to 2 p.m. We suggest you check our website for exact dates.

We are only able to adopt our dogs to those living within the immediate Austin area. Our local only adoption requirement is due to the thoroughness of our process, which includes home visits and a trial adoption period to ensure the dog has adjusted well. With our team of volunteers, it is not possible to conduct these steps outside our area. Even if you are willing to travel, we must keep our efforts local to maintain the integrity of our process.
