MISSISSIPPI - Great Pyrenees and Mixed Breed Dog for Adoption in Richmond, California

Ten beautiful Pyr mix pups, possibly mixed with Anatolian Shepherd - seemingly all Guardian breed genes. Gorgeous, soft and sensitive, mellow and watchful, playful with each other and they cuddle together very sweetly! Five are in the Bay Area and five are at our Sanctuary east of Willits.

Guardian breeds need to be kept socialized with other dogs, with people, and other animals or they can become too protective and territorial, so if you are considering, keep that in mind. Guardian breeds are very special but they come with their own bag of tricks, and can be stubborn, willful, independent. They bond to their home surroundings, and need good fencing. They have a lot of fur, double dewclaws, and weigh typically 80 or more pounds. The parents of these pups are livestock guardians.

The Great Pyrenees is a majestic and noble breed known for its gentle demeanor and steadfast loyalty. Originating from the Pyrenees Mountains, these large and dignified dogs are renowned for their protective instincts and ability to work as livestock guardians.
