Meet Adeline — a professional serotonin dispenser disguised as a dog.
Adeline is that perfect contradiction: part playful goofball, part professional snuggle consultant. She’ll zoom around like she’s late for an imaginary meeting, then immediately slam the brakes and curl up against you as if her shift as your emotional support assistant has begun. If you’re looking for a dog who can keep up during playtime, then immediately clock in for cuddle duty like it’s her full-time job, Adeline is ready to report for service. Warning: side effects may include excessive smiling, loss of personal space, and wondering how you lived without her before.
Adeline is a 5-month-old, 50-pound female Great Pyrenees who arrived with her brother Albie after being abandoned… and honestly? Someone really messed up. Like astronomically. Because as far as puppies go, this girl is dangerously close to perfect. Adeline has all the makings of a soul dog — loyal, affectionate, larger than life, and the kind of companion who becomes woven into your daily routine so thoroughly you forget what quiet felt like. She’s sweet, she’s fun, she’s going to be enormous, and she is absolutely worth every square inch of couch space she plans to claim. Now let’s talk about the part people love to underestimate: she is going to be BIG. Not “large dog” big. Not “wow that’s a big puppy” big. We’re talking full-on Sasquatch type dog. A majestic, fluffy, linebacker-sized creature who will someday look at you with total sincerity and think, Yes. I belong directly on your lap. And she will never — not once — understand why her entire body cannot squeeze onto you like she’s still a 20-pound baby. Adeline is not for someone who thinks explaining “no” one time means it’s been permanently added to the rulebook. She’s a Great Pyrenees. She will hear you. She will process it. And then she will decide how she feels about it. She’s going to grow into a big, powerful, independent dog who needs a human that understands Pyr logic, Pyr size, and Pyr opinions.
Adeline is a full-on dog’s dog. She loves being around other dogs and has the emotional intelligence of someone who’s been through therapy. She knows who wants to play, who wants personal space, and who is absolutely not in the mood — and she respects all of it like a polite fluffy adult. No chaos, no nonsense, just good vibes and solid social skills. Cats? Jury’s still out. The council has not convened. No official ruling has been issued. Kids? She’s been around older kids and absolutely adored them. Thought they were fantastic. Five stars, would recommend. Toddlers, however, may want to keep snacks under witness protection, because Adeline would 100% consider unattended toddler food a personal invitation. New people? Immediate tail wags. Big smiles. Full “hi yes hello I love you already” energy. She greets strangers like they’re long-lost friends who simply took an unreasonably long time to come meet her.
Adeline clocks in at about a 7/10 on the energy scale, which means she’s fun, peppy, and ready to do things… but not in a way that makes you question your life choices. She’s got zoomies when it’s time for zoomies and then happily powers down for cuddle mode. Car rides? She’s a dream. She will absolutely hop right in — once she’s been informed there is a treat involved — and then she either stares out the window like she’s in a coming-of-age movie or politely lays down like a seasoned road-trip professional. Leash training is going well, especially when snacks are part of the negotiation. Temperament-wise, Adeline is exceptionally intelligent, reads rooms better than most adults, and understands other dogs’ and humans’ signals with surprising accuracy. She’s joyful, energetic, and deeply affectionate — fully capable of going from play mode to full-body cuddle without missing a beat. Adventure-wise, she’s dipped her toes into the social scene — park trips for leash practice, lots of car rides, and even a bath at the feed store. She’s down for a good time, but also deeply appreciates being home, where her couch, people, and snacks live. Water? Hard pass. Toys? Yes, absolutely, thank you for asking. Housing needs: secured fenced yard required. She’s going to be a big girl, and she’s going to need space to stretch her legs, burn energy, and grow into her full Sasquatch potential. Apartment life is not her destiny. Commands? She knows sit and leave it, which is honestly a solid start for a Pyr puppy who is still deciding which rules she finds emotionally compelling.
Adeline is fully potty trained. She does great in a kennel as long as she’s paid appropriately — a bone or a Kong will do. Without compensation? Let’s not be unreasonable. Barking? Yes — she’s already taking her guardian job very seriously. She will bark when she’s outside and needs to alert you that something is occurring. That something may be legitimate… or it may be neighbors existing. That said, she mostly just watches people quietly, judging their life choices from afar like a true Pyr professional. She is exceptionally smart, very affectionate, loves being scratched and cuddled, and genuinely enjoys learning new things. That intelligence, however, means she knows exactly when you’re not watching — and may make decisions accordingly. Adeline is not for an inexperienced large-dog owner. She’s going to be big, strong, clever, and confident. But for the right person? She’s going to be an incredibly loyal, loving, hilarious companion who brings warmth, fluff, and will be one of those dogs that you never forget. A soul dog, if you will.
If you’re thinking “yes, this is my dog” (because you know a gem of a pup when you see one), please fill out an adoption application at https://www.pyrpawsandfluffytailsrescue.com/adoption-app so we can pass it along to her foster family. This step is non-negotiable — love alone, unfortunately, does not count as an official application.
Pickup will be in Claremore, OK, so make sure that works for you before falling completely and irrevocably in love.
Apply, commit, come get your girl — and prepare to spend the rest of your life explaining to guests why there is a very large dog attempting to become one with your body. 💛
