Great Pyrenees and Maremma Sheepdog Dogs Available for Adoption

Meet Octavius, a one year old Great Pyr/Maremma mix (confirmed by a DNA test). This guy weighs approximately 85 pounds and is a big furry bundle of sweetness and love. He was born into rescue as his mother was being fostered and was raised hands-on by his foster family and was adopted when he was approximately five months old. Through no fault of his own, he was returned to rescue just before Christmas and went back to his original foster family.
While Octavius is a LGD dog, he has been raised as a pet and not as a working dog. He can be a little apprehensive of new people and new situations, but give him a little time and space and he adapts nicely. He loves to spend time outside, lying in the grass and watching over his domain, but he equally loves being inside on a cozy dog bed, getting loves and pets from his foster family. Octavius gets along well with other dogs - both large and small. He is crate, trained, house safe, walks well on a leash and rides well in a car.
If applying for Octavius, please be educated on the breed as they need to be understood and appreciated for who and what they are. Octavius is in foster care in the Portland area. His adoption fee is $200.
