We also brought this beautiful young lady into rescue recently! Her name is Hazel and she is a Great Dane mix according to the surrendering owners. She is a little over 2 years old with a birthdate of November 2023. It's early on in her stay with us, but Hazel has shown that she rides beautifully in a vehicle, is crate trained and housebroken.
She attended the St. Pawtrick's Day event at the Dog Bar St. Pete on Sunday March 15th and did amazingly well for her first time at an outing of that nature. She socialized with other dogs and was great with the women in the group, she is still timid around some men.
We have no information as to how she behaves with cats or children, but given her timid nature, I would suggest older children in a giant breed savvy home.
The Great Dane is a majestic and gentle giant known for its impressive size and friendly demeanor. With roots dating back to ancient times, this breed is valued for its noble appearance and loyal temperament. Great Danes are known to be excellent family companions, often forming strong bonds with their owners. Despite their intimidating stature, they are generally gentle and affectionate, making them great pets for families of all sizes. Their easygoing nature and playful personality make them a popular choice for those seeking a loving and regal companion.
