This beautiful girl did not have the easiest start in life. When Nisha came to us, she had clearly been neglected. She was underweight, had several sores, and suffered from a condition called entropion, where the eyelids roll inward and the eyelashes rub painfully against the eyes every time the dog blinks.
Since coming into rescue, Nisha has received the care she needed and deserves. She is now happy, healthy, spayed, has had preventative gastropexy surgery to prevent bloat, and her entropion has been surgically corrected, bringing her much-needed relief.
Nisha has a sweet nature and enjoys the company of puppies and female dogs. It took her a little time to warm up to male dogs when she first arrived, though that may have been influenced by the fact that she was in heat at the time.
She would do best in a home with giant breed experience and no small dogs or cats. Nisha can become reactive around food when other dogs are nearby, so in her foster home she is fed separately in her crate, and treats are given the same way. Because of this, she would thrive either as the only dog in the home or with an owner who is comfortable managing feeding times in separate spaces.
Nisha has come a long way and is ready for a home where she will be loved, understood, and cared for the way she always deserved.We require professional obedience training from a certified trainer for ALL adoptions.
