Meet Hope, a sweet and energetic young girl with a heart as big as her smile. This precious momma was found wandering the streets, doing her best to survive on her own. Despite whatever she’s been through, she remains incredibly loving, affectionate, and eager to belong to someone.
Hope is the perfect mix of playful and cuddly. She has moderate energy — she loves to run, play, and get silly with her people, but she also knows how to settle down appropriately and relax. She enjoys stretching out in the backyard, soaking up the sunshine, and then coming inside to be right in the middle of whatever you’re doing.
Personal space? Not her thing. If you’re moving, she wants to be part of it. If you’re sitting, she wants to be loved on.
She is fully potty trained and kennel trained, making her an easy addition to the home. She rides well in the car and walks nicely on leash most of the time, though she can be inconsistent on occasion. She’s a smart girl who continues learning and gaining confidence every day.
Hope does great with large dogs and seems comfortable around them. She ignores cats in her foster home but has not been formally tested long-term, so slow introductions are always recommended. She is unsure about small dogs.
She does well with older children and is great with a 12-year-old in her foster home, but she is fearful of younger children. Sudden movements and loud noises can make her uncomfortable, so a home with kids 12 and older would be best.
Around adults and strangers, Hope can initially be shy or nervous, but she warms up quickly once she realizes she’s safe. She just needs a little patience and reassurance. Small children are her biggest fear, so she will need a home that respects that boundary.
Hope would thrive in a loving, moderately active home that can continue building her confidence while giving her the affection she craves. She has clearly endured a lot, yet she remains trusting, gentle, and grateful for every kind touch. With stability and love, she is going to make an incredibly loyal and devoted companion.
Hope is available for adoption and is currently in Montgomery, TX (local or close surrounding foster preferred).
