Bear (male 75lbs) and Miss Pretty (female 95lbs) are a wonderful pair of pure Goldens who were surrendered to GRRAND by a shelter in Ohio. They had reportedly been maintained outdoors on chains all their lives and used for breeding. The shelter had reportedly tried very hard to get the owner to surrender them over the years, but he was unwilling to do so. When the owner recently passed away, the family members sent the dogs to the shelter. These dogs are super sweet and seem to be house trained, amazingly. They are not soiling their kennel run and also are very social (unexpected for dogs who have been kept chained all their lives). We are looking for a foster or adoptive home for them to go to together since they are a very bonded pair. Bear is also heartworm positive and will need a calm environment willing to see him through heartworm treatment (no active young kids or young dogs). This heartworm treatment will be done at GRRAND's expense, but Bear will need a family willing to take him back and forth to the vet for his treatments and follow-up visits over the course of a couple of months till he is heartworm negative.
We are seeking a foster or adoptive home for these 2 lovies especially so Bear can complete his heartworm treatment in a home. If you would like to meet them, and get them out of the kennel please fill out an app at GRRAND.org
