Meet Penny 💕 – 4 Months Old | Tiny Survivor with a Big Future
Penny is just turning four months old, and her little life has already been full of challenges that most puppies never have to face.
She came to us from a hoarding case where the owner retrieved the mom dog but left the puppies behind at the shelter. Our rescue stepped in and raised the litter as bottle babies. Penny was the smallest of them all and struggled to take the bottle in those early days, which kept her behind in size compared to her siblings.
Soon after, she developed coccidia, an intestinal parasite that can be especially hard on fragile puppies. It impacted her gut health and slowed her growth even more. She successfully completed treatment, but we continued working through lingering stool issues.
After further evaluation, we discovered Penny had a Vitamin B12 deficiency, which explained why her body wasn’t fully bouncing back. With proper B12 supplementation and a high-quality puppy diet, everything has changed.
Today:
• Her stools are completely normal
• She has a healthy appetite
• Her energy is playful and bright
• She is steadily catching up to the size and weight she’s meant to be
Penny is now thriving and officially ready to find her forever home.
Despite her rough start, she is incredibly sweet, gentle, and deeply affectionate. Bottle babies often form strong bonds with their people, and Penny is no exception. She loves being close, soaking up attention, and feeling safe.
She’s looking for a committed home that will:
• Continue excellent nutrition
• Maintain routine vet care
• Give her the love and stability she’s always deserved
Penny may be small, but her resilience is mighty. After everything she’s overcome, she’s ready for a fresh chapter filled with security, comfort, and love.
If you’re ready to give this brave little girl the forever home she’s been waiting for, we would love to hear from you. 💕
