Golden Retriever and Pit Bull Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption

Leprechaun is a 4-month-old black Golden Retriever mix with the heart, loyalty, and goofy joy of a true retriever. At his foster home he goes by Murphy — and he's equal parts playful pup and devoted cuddle bug.

Currently about 25 pounds, Murphy loves being outside, navigates stairs like a pro, and sleeps soundly in his covered crate — his cozy little hidey-hole where he keeps all his favorite toys (and any treasures he discovers). There isn't a toy he doesn't love.

He's learning house rules and working on “sit,” showing off that classic retriever attitude — smart, eager, and just a little opinionated. He'll even walk away from his food when he's full. He loves to snuggle, sleeps well, and thrives with consistency and affection.

Black dogs are often overlooked in shelters, but Murphy's sweet nature and shining personality make him impossible to forget. He isn't just lucky — he's someone's once-in-a-lifetime dog.
