Loyal, loving and low-energy, Billy Ray walks like a dream on leash. His slight limp may be related to a tick-borne illness for which he is treating. He loves to check out everything and is as agreeable as they come. His very thick black coat and majestic gait are hallmarks of German shepherds, but from the rear you would swear he was a rottie! Not sure what happened to his tail — whether he was born without one (part corgi?) or if at some point in his life it was cropped — so don't look for a wagging tail on this big guy.
Billy Ray is around 70 lbs. and came from a shelter in WV where he had been overlooked. Senior dogs make great companions for couch-potato people and Billy Ray is a great example of that. Come meet this mild-mannered, handsome boy.
You can visit the dogs from noon - 3 pm Saturdays and Sundays, otherwise by appointment. We always recommend submitting an application (and a copy of recent vet records for your current pets if applicable) to info@aradopt.org.
