Please contact Chandler Jaffe (chandler.jaffe@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet GSD looking for her forever home!BRIDGET NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!
Name: Bridget Best Guess for Breed: German Shepherd mix
Best Guess for Age: 5 years old SEX: female
Approximate Weight: 47lbs as of 1/27/26
Gets Along With: Other dogs! We haven't seen them with cats or kids but we are happy to discuss integration techniques with any potential adopters!
Currently Living at: South Carolina shelter; needs a foster or forever home in the DC area.
Special adoption considerations: Bridget is a truly Lucky Dog. She tested positive for heartworms, but landed in a place where heartworm treatment is provided! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment. We are happy to discuss where in the treatment process this Lucky Dog is in right now! Just email the adoption coordinator - the address is at lower left!
Bridget is Looking For: If you know German shepherds - you know what's most important to those Velcro dogs. Having their own humans! Bridget is looking for her own humans to trot alongside on those sniffy walks and all the adventures they can dream up! Making new pup pals is on her wish list along with quality kibble and a cushy dog bed.
But above all she wants to know where she belongs, to be under her own roof, to be safe and loved. In exchange, she promises loyal companionship for all her days. What do you say? Can you see her by your side?
