1- FRIENDLY?
He is a people-friendly boy! In general, he is non-reactive.

2- ENERGY LEVEL?
This athletic boy is still very young, and active. He appreciates adventure and engagement. At the same time, he can just as easily lounge around and chill. Overall,, he rates at about "8" on energy. It's also important to note, he has manners, and doesn't jump on people.

3- AFFECTIONATE?
Fletcher is really affectionate and loves attention!

4- LOYAL?
German Shepherds are known to be a very loyal breed. Additionally, you can almost expect him to be velcro.

5- SMART? CURIOUS? COMMANDS?
Fletcher is very smart and astute. He knows SIT, walks well on leash, and has zero food aggression..

6- BRAVE? PROTECTIVE?
If needed, he can be protective (he is a german shepherd afterall).

He is a great size for a german shepherd, and is stunning! And besides his good looks, he is both well-mannered and well-behaved

He is an owner-surrender, and is more settled than your standard rescue dog. He is a jewel and well socialized.

Yes.

None.

Walks well.

Totally chill.

HIGH - LOVES TO EAT AND KNOWS TREAT. Not food aggressive at all.

We imagine he has an average prey drive.

19- WHAT IS THE BLEEDING HEART SOCIETY?
The Bleeding Heart Society refers to the dogs who were not just abandoned by their people, but also by the rescues who promised to save them. Many of them have been abandoned for years (and some their entire lives), in boarding facilities without anyone to advocate for them. THESE DOGS ARE JUST AS ADOPTABLE AS THE PUPS WE HAVE HAVE IN FOSTER HOMES. In most cases they were NOT abandoned because of behavioral or health issues. They are wonderful dogs who have simply been forgotten. These pups are living a life sentence they do not deserve. They are merely existing day in and day out with very limited freedom, joy or companionship.

In an effort for our hearts to bleed no more, we are initiating a separate effort to promote these specific pups to those who would like to join us on this mission of restoring their destiny to be in a stable home, to live a life worth living, and to love people worth loving.

Only a select number of our dogs are classified under THE BLEEDING HEART SOCIETY. If you would like to see who else falls under this category, please send us an inquiry or email to see who all is currently available. Again, The Bleeding Heart Society only refers to the abandoned environment & conditions the dog has been left in. While the scenario is not desirable, these pups certainly are both loveable and adoptable.

20- ANYTHING ELSE?
Because he is an owner-surrender, he is experienced living in a house (and with a kitty). His previous owner would take him to the river and dog park. Adult owner moved out of state for college, and no longer able to take proper care of him.
