Bumper - German Shepherd Dog Dog for Adoption in Greensboro, North Carolina

Bumper is currently in the care of one of our amazing foster families! Here is what they have to say about him:

Meet Bumper - also known as Ranger at his foster home.

This sweet boy is currently looking for his forever home. At roughly 80 pounds (and still needing to fill out a bit), Bumper is a big boy with an even bigger heart.

Bumper came to the shelter as a stray, so unfortunately, we don't know much about his past. What we do know is that he is incredibly sweet and loves both adults and children. He is dog-selective and would do best in a home without cats or small animals.

He is completely house-trained and already knows sit, off, down, leave it, and shake. He is currently working on stay and heel and is getting better each day! Bumper has been working on walking on the leash and while he likes to pull when he gets excited, with correction, he fixes his mistakes. Bumper is also working on crate training. He doesn't mind his crate as long as his people are home - because Bumper has some pretty serious separation anxiety.

And by "serious," we mean that if he notices you've left, he may just start singing the song of his ancestors... loudly... and frequently. So, his future family will need to be patient and willing to continue working with him on his anxiety and confidence when left alone.

When he's not practicing his manners, Bumper loves squeaky and crinkle toys, cuddling, and napping - especially during car rides.

Bumper is such a lovable, goofy boy who deserves a family of his own. We know the right home is out there for him, and we'd love nothing more than to see him find his forever people.

As always, we strongly recommend that resident dogs meet any new potential canine family members. If bringing a resident dog for a dog-to-dog test, please bring proof of Rabies, DHPP, and Bordetella vaccines.
