Mango has reached the wonderful stage of life where she knows exactly what she wants, and frankly, her list is pretty reasonable: snackies, smooches, plenty of pets, and a soft couch she is welcome on. She isn’t looking to climb mountains or keep up with the neighborhood puppies. Mango is a senior girlie, and she is very happy to leave the chaos to the youngsters.

Mango is a big, fluffy brown beauty with what looks like some husky in the family tree, although as with any rescue, breed and age are our best guesses. What we do know for sure is that Mango is a people girl. She is sweet and friendly meeting new friends, loves attention, and has been known to wander over for a hug and a cuddle with a great big smile on her face. Stop petting her before she is finished and you may receive a gentle paw reminding you that she would love just a little more love please.

Walkies? Yes please! She has lovely leash manners and heels nicely beside her person. Mango enjoys getting outside and taking in the world, but she isn’t asking for a packed adventure schedule. Leisurely outings, easy walks, and plenty of time relaxing at home are much more her speed. She could even be an apartment girl as long as her home doesn’t require her to tackle lots of stairs or long walks just to get outside.

When it comes to other dogs, Mango has entered her “please respect my personal space” era. She can coexist nicely with calm, lower-energy dogs who aren’t interested in bouncing all over her or recruiting her for playtime. She isn’t looking for a canine wrestling partner and certainly doesn’t need another dog to make her life complete. In fact, Mango would be perfectly content being the only dog and soaking up all the attention herself. If she does share her home, an older or similarly laid-back dog who understands the beauty of peacefully minding their own business would be her best match.

Mango has also spent time around multiple cats and could potentially share her home with a calm, uninterested feline friend. She tends to prefer everyone to simply coexist without a lot of forced interaction, so a relaxed, dog-savvy cat and thoughtful introductions would suit her best.

A calmer home with teens and adults would fit Mango beautifully. She appreciates people who let her settle in, get comfortable, and come in for affection on her own terms rather than making a huge production out of introductions. Once she is comfortable, there is a very sweet girl waiting for her cuddles. She even takes her treats with a wonderfully gentle mouth, which is important considering snackies are a major part of her retirement plans.

There is something incredibly special about adopting a senior dog. Mango isn’t asking you to teach her how to conquer the world. She is looking for someone willing to make her world small, softer, and full of good things. A comfortable couch. A gentle walk. A tasty treat on the regular. Someone to love who will happily keep petting her when that little paw comes up asking for just a few more.

We facilitate adoptions nationwide using our rescue run USDA certified transport system, ensuring every pet travels safely and comfortably with 24/7 care. Our transport includes drop off locations, in WA, UT, OR, ID, VA, PA, OH, NY, CT, VT, TN, KY, WI, MN, IL, WI and Canada (pick up in Bellingham, WA, Buffalo, NY or Brattleboro, VT for for Canadian adopters). You will have the opportunity to track their journey in real time, see photo updates, learn fun facts, connect with fellow adopters and fosters through our private Facebook event page!

Before the adoption is finalized, you will meet your pet through a video call, creating a fun and personalized experience!

The adoption fee is $700 and includes all vetting (DAPP with booster, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, multiple broad spectrum deworming treatments, spay/neuter, flea prevention, a 12 month heartworm preventative injectable, heartworm test and treatment if needed, a microchip with free lifetime registration, a high quality nylon Martingale collar, a health certificate deeming the pup healthy for travel, cost of transport*, and priceless years of love and loyal companionship!

At our 2 acre Texas based property, we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group training and socialization play groups helping them stay confident, well rounded, and adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers are dedicated to each dog’s growth and we enjoy seeing their progress!

We go above and beyond to ensure every animal receives exceptional care. Veterinarians consistently praise our medical standards. From routine care to advanced treatments, each dog receives personalized attention. Hard costs for a healthy dog range from $804-$920; heartworm-positive dogs or those needing specialized care can exceed $2,000+. Adoption fees help cover a portion of these expenses, but without government funding, we rely on fundraising to bridge the gap—ranging from $100–$1,000+ per dog.

Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet.
