DESCRIPTION

Meet Comet Lue Anne!

Comet Lue Anne is a 1 1/2 year-old German shepherd/Pittie mix with a personality as big as her name. This sweet, fiery beach babe is ready to be your furry familiar and best friend.

Most importantly, Comet just wants to have fun: play, play and play some more. She’s obsessed with her toys at home and lights up around other dogs, especially in spaces where she can run wild with a playful crew. She’s the kind of dog who thrives on canine company and genuinely loves encouraging shy or insecure dogs to come out of their shells and join the fun, one of her foster mom’s favorite things about her.

That same playful streak comes out with her humans too, especially at night when she tends to get a second wind. Her favorite move is what her foster family affectionately calls “corn cobbing,” using her mouth to nibble and invite people into play. It’s all in good fun and never aggressive, but it’s something a new family should be ready to redirect, and keeping plenty of toys on hand has been a great way to shift her focus. Because her play style is mouthy, a family with older children is suggested.

That said, Comet’s enthusiasm can run a little big! Her playful pushiness has earned her a correction from other dogs who aren’t quite as game as she is. As a fast-learning 1 1/2 year-old Shepherd/Pittie mix, she picks up commands quickly, and she’d do best with an adopter who can keep working with her on reading social cues and dialing back the pushiness, so all that spirited energy can settle into the confident, joyful playmate she has the potential to be.

Comet loves the beach and nature, and she is happiest splashing in the water, so an active adopter who wants an adventure buddy will be a great match. She’s great in the car too, riding along daily with her foster family on school pickup. A gentle lead is helping with pulling and distractions on walks, and it is recommended to keep using one.

While living with her foster parents, who work from home, she’s shown a calm, easygoing side: taking plenty of naps, entertaining herself with solo play, and periodically checking in on her people throughout the day. When she settles in with you, she will be your couch time movie buddy! She adores belly rubs and is gentle in how she carries herself around people in general. She’s a total sweetheart with a soft spot for kids. Although would do best with older children because of her mouthy play style.

Comet free-roams in her foster home alongside 2 confident cats and a 13-year-old Chihuahua and has done well navigating that mixed household, although given her play style, she’d do best in a home without cats. As far as an in-home dog companion, she would do best with dogs who want to play!

Comet Lue Anne is a whole lot of heart wrapped up in a whole lot of energy: goofy, affectionate, and endlessly eager to bring the people and animals around her into her world of play.

She is just waiting for someone willing to put in the time to help her channel all that spark! Give her the structure, patience, and playtime she craves, and Comet won’t just fit into your life, she’ll light it up.
