Meet Eevie!
Eevie is a 4-month-old German Shepherd puppy, currently 16 pounds and growing, with a bright spirit and a remarkable story of resilience. She was found as a stray in Detroit and sadly was never reclaimed. Shortly after being rescued, her journey took an even more serious turn when it was discovered that she had ingested a sock and required emergency surgery to remove the foreign body from her lower intestines.
Despite everything she has been through, Eevie has proven she is a true fighter with an incredible will to survive. Now healed and ready for a fresh start, she's looking for a loving family to give her the happy future she deserves.
Like most German Shepherd puppies, Eevie is smart, curious, energetic, and eager to learn. She will do best with an active family that has breed experience and understands the mental and physical stimulation that shepherds need to thrive.
Eevie is still very much a puppy and will need to continue working on house training, basic manners, and ongoing socialization as she grows. She has done well with other energetic dogs, but because of her playful puppy energy, she would not be a good fit for a home with senior dogs. Her interactions with cats have been limited, so slow introductions would be recommended.
Due to her puppy antics, teething, and enthusiasm, Eevie would do best in a home with older, dog-savvy children who understand how to interact respectfully with a young, energetic dog.
Like many shepherd puppies, Eevie loves to chew as she explores the world around her. She will need a diligent and attentive family who can provide appropriate toys and help guide her toward good habits as she matures.
Eevie has already overcome more than most puppies ever should, and now she's ready for her next chapter. She's searching for a committed family who will give her the structure, love, and guidance she needs — and who will love her furever.
Eevie is:

Receiving Heartworm and Flea Prevention

Many of the animals in our foster program come to us with limited or unknown histories. We make every effort to evaluate each animal's temperament and behavior, including testing their interactions with other dogs, cats, and children (defined as individuals under the age of 18, when available). However, every animal is unique—just as every child and household environment is different.
While we strive to set both our foster animals and adoptive families up for success through thorough assessments and transparent communication, **we cannot guarantee any specific behavioral outcome**. Animals can be unpredictable by nature, and behavior may change in new environments or over time. By proceeding with adoption or foster placement, applicants acknowledge and accept this inherent risk and agree that no guarantees, either expressed or implied, are made regarding the temperament or behavior of any animal placed through our program.
