Meet Rocky!
Rocky is a 7-year-old purebred German Shepherd weighing in at an impressive 150 pounds. He has spent his entire life with the same family since he was just 6 weeks old, and he's the definition of a loyal companion.
Like any good German Shepherd, Rocky loves having a job to do. Whether he's playing fetch, chasing bugs around the yard, going for walks, or simply keeping an eye on his people, he's happiest when he's included in the action. He's highly trained, knows all of his basic commands, and has been professionally e-collar trained. While he can walk off-leash with his e-collar, he tends to do best on leash and naturally stays close to his people, always keeping them within sight.
Rocky is deeply devoted to his family and protective of his home. He may bark when someone approaches the house, passes by a window, or enters the home, but this is typical guardian behavior for the breed. Once properly introduced, he settles in well. He has a soft spot for women but has done well with men after a thoughtful introduction.
Despite his size, Rocky is a gentle giant at heart. He loves being close to his humans, enjoys cuddling on the couch or in bed, and would much rather spend time with his people than be left alone. He has excellent house manners, has never been destructive, and adapts well to new environments. He enjoys affection but prefers not to be picked up or handled roughly.
Rocky has done well with children throughout his life and has extensive experience with boarding and doggy daycare. He has consistently gotten along well with other dogs, especially Golden Retrievers and smaller dogs.
Medically, Rocky is in great health. He was born without two toes on one of his back feet, but it has never slowed him down or caused any issues. He is microchipped and has remained up to date on all vaccinations throughout his life.
Rocky would thrive in an active home with a fenced yard and people who appreciate the intelligence, loyalty, and companionship that make German Shepherds such incredible dogs. At the end of the day, his favorite thing is simple: being wherever his humans are.
