From the moment Teddy arrived in rescue, it was clear he had a gentle, tender nature—hence the name Teddy. He gains confidence every day; while he may still startle at unfamiliar noises or quick movements, he recovers quickly and continues to make steady progress.

Teddy loves to sit as close as possible and happily snuggles into blankets. He has formed a sweet friendship with the foster homes 8 month old female German Shepherd. She has more energy and enjoys nibbling on him during play, which he tolerates well. He can get a bit jealous if she is let out of her crate before him and will vocalize his feelings, but it’s brief and manageable. We believe he would thrive with a dog neutral female companion who can help continue building his confidence, he becomes unsettled and vocalizes around the Male shepherd in the house.

Despite his medium size, Teddy can sound much larger—he has a small frame and a big personality. He has learned that barking is appropriate when the doorbell rings or someone enters the home. He may be shy with visitors at first, but he has shown no negative behaviors. He enjoys chew toys and can destroy plush toys quickly. His love of treats makes training straight forward and enjoyable.

As a foster-based rescue, we do not have a central facility to visit. Meet and greets with specific dogs are arranged once your adoption application (not an inquiry through Petfinder) has been received, processed, and approved.

We do not allow our dogs to be tied, tethered, chained or secured on a tie out for any of our dogs. We do not allow our rescue dogs to go into homes with an underground electronic fence system. We do not adopt our dogs to folks who plan to have the dogs living outside 24/7 or the majority of time or living in a kennel type environment
