German Shepherd Dog Dogs Available for Adoption

Kaiser is an 8–9 month old German Shepherd/mix, possibly with Collie or Australian Shepherd or a similar herding breed. He currently weighs about 40 pounds and will likely continue to fill out a bit more as he matures. Kaiser came to Scout’s Street Smart Rescue along with another dog who was pregnant at the time, after their previous owners were no longer able to afford their care. Despite the changes in his young life, he has remained a happy, sweet, wiggly boy who truly enjoys being around people.

Kaiser is very friendly and affectionate. He has typical energy for a herding breed mix and will do best in an active home that understands the needs of working and herding breeds. He is smart, eager to learn, and would thrive with continued training, structure, and consistency. He is still a puppy, but more of a teenage puppy at this stage. He is house trained, crate trained, and doing well working on his leash manners.

Kaiser may try to play with cats due to his puppy energy and curiosity. He does not show any intent to harm them, but he can be a bit enthusiastic. Because of this, he would do best in a home with dog-savvy cats who are comfortable setting boundaries, or in a home without cats.

Because of his herding instincts and playful enthusiasm, Kaiser would do best in a home with children 7–8 years and older.

Kaiser is looking for a committed family who will provide him with exercise, mental stimulation, and guidance as he grows into adulthood. In return, he will offer loyalty, affection, and a joyful personality that will brighten your home.
