While every rescue is a bit of a mystery, we think Bear is a stunning German Shepherd mix! At a healthy 69 lbs, he has a tall, athletic frame that makes him look like a true champion, but don’t let his size fool you he’s a softie at his core. He’s a big dog through and through, meaning there is just more of him to hug and more of him to love!
Bear is currently a star pupil in his foster home, where he’s shown us that he’s a total fan of the "stuffy" toy lifestyle. He carries his plushies around like little treasures! He’s been a perfect roommate to a 13 year old Chihuahua, proving that he can be a gentle giant even around the smallest of friends. He is crate trained and thrives when he has a consistent routine to follow with his favorite humans.
Bear is currently thriving in a wonderful foster home where he is discovering just how sweet life can be! He’s become a total fan of the stuffy toy lifestyle, carrying his plushies around like they are his tiny, fluffy treasures. He’s been a gentle giant with his 10 year old Chihuahua roommate, showing us his silly and respectful side. He is a champion in his crate and loves a good routine where he knows exactly when the next round of ear scratches is coming. A silly note from his foster with us is "When Bear is chewing on a toy, he becomes so incredibly focused. He prefers it perfectly silent! If he hears a noise, he’ll stop and look up with a hilarious look of, 'Excuse me, I am trying to have a very important moment with my stuffed friend here,' before getting right back to his business once the quiet returns." Bear is ready to bring his manners, stuffy toys & love into your home!
If there were an award for the most polite greetings, Bear wouldn’t just win it he’d have a whole trophy shelf and probably still say thank you for each one. This gentleman is basically the mayor of Good Manners Town, always approaching new furry friends with the perfect mix of confidence, respect, and tail wagging charm. On leash, Bear is cool as a cucumber and greets other dogs like he’s been practicing his etiquette his whole life no chaos, no drama, just hello, lovely to meet you! energy. When it comes to dog friendships? Oh, he’s a social butterfly in a fluffy suit. Bear is dog friendly and absolutely thrives with canine companions who enjoy a kind, easygoing playmate. If your pup is looking for a bestie who knows how to share, play nice, and keep things fun without being overwhelming, Bear is ready to RSVP yes to that friendship immediately.
Is Bear a cat person? During his first meeting with a feline friend, he was actually quite shy. We think a sleepover with a kitty would be the best way to get a definitive answer. He’s a polite guy who just needs a little time to see if a cat can be his new best friend.
Is Bear a cat person? The jury’s still out but he’s off to a very polite start! During his first meeting with a feline friend, Bear was actually a bit shy, choosing to hang back and take it all in rather than rush in with big energy. We think a sleepover with a kitty would be the best way to see how he really feels once he’s had a little time to settle in. Bear is a thoughtful, well mannered guy who just needs a moment to warm up and who knows, he might just discover his new best friend has whiskers and a purr!
Bear’s dream home? Oh, it’s one where he gets to be the main character (don’t worry he’s a very humble celebrity about it). While he’d absolutely adore a yard to stretch those long, dapper legs, his calm, go with the flow vibe means he can also rock the apartment life like a pro think “chill roommate who never leaves dishes in the sink.” At the end of the day, what Bear wants most is his people a family who sees just how special his sweet personality and brilliant brain really are. All he’s searching for is a soft place to land, where he can blossom into the loyal, handsome gentleman he was always meant to be… preferably with a cozy spot on the couch reserved just for him.
Bear is ready to bring his impeccable manners, his beloved stuffy toys, and a whole lot of love into your home. All that’s missing is his person could that be you?
