Amelia is ready to find a loving home after an incredible journey of recovery. Rescued from a Texas cruelty case, she arrived underweight and in need of care, but thanks to her dedicated foster family, she's thriving and well on the road to a happy, healthy life.
Amelia is a people-loving pup who wants to be wherever her humans are. She has a friendly, confident play style and enjoys spending time with other dogs. She's also been around cats and has done well. Amelia would do best in a home without small critters or barnyard animals-to her, they are dinner.
Because of her background, Amelia is still learning a few things. She's making great progress with potty training and just needs a family that will continue helping her build consistency. She tolerates wearing a leash but hasn't quite figured out that walks are supposed to be fun, so she'll benefit from patient encouragement as she gains confidence exploring the world.
Playtime is one of Amelia's favorite things, so she'll need plenty of durable toys to keep her entertained. She has a sensitive stomach and does best on a chicken-free diet.

Amelia is from Texas. They arrive in Minnesota on 7/25/2026 and will need to be picked up from the Ruff Start Rescue office in Princeton, MN between the hours of 9am and noon. Please plan for their arrival accordingly as we cannot accommodate pickups outside of this time frame. Since they haven't arrived yet, they are available exclusively through Ruff Start's Foster to Adopt (FTA) Program. Visit our Foster to Adopt Program page to learn more. Once they get to Minnesota, they might require further veterinary care. Ruff Start's veterinary suite is located in Princeton, MN, and, as the foster, you will be required to transport your dog to and from these vetting appointments.
