James’ story almost ended before it even began. He was found wandering the streets of Bakersfield, dangerously close to being hit by passing cars… scared, tiny, and alone. But someone stepped in just in time—and now he’s safe, and ready for his second chance at life.
James appears to be an English Setter mix, currently around 20 lbs and about 3 months old. Despite everything he’s been through, his spirit is incredibly gentle, loving, and full of joy.
He is the sweetest boy—he loves giving kisses, sleeps through the night, and already knows how to play fetch! Even more amazing, he is potty trained and crate trained, making him such a great start for any family.
James gets along beautifully with dogs, cats, and kids, and truly just wants to be part of a loving home. He’s still a young pup with so much to learn, so he’ll need a family willing to continue his training and give him the time, care, and love he deserves.
From nearly losing his life on the streets… to now waiting for someone to show him what forever truly means—James is ready.
