Meet Roxie, a 6 year old, spayed female, Dachshund, who came to us when her owner could no longer care for her. Roxie and her bestie, Rascal, are in need of a fur-ever family who don't mind putting in the effort to manage the pups' weight. Regular walks are a must!
Roxie wouldn't mind having a cat or dog friend other than Rascal, but if there is a dog already in the home, an introduction will take place at the shelter prior to adoption. We would also recommend a home without young children.
She is bonded with Rascal, so they must be adopted together.
Intake: 2/14/26

The dachshund is a small dog breed known for its long body, short legs, and distinctive appearance. Originally bred for hunting badgers, these playful and loyal dogs make loving companions for families. Dachshunds come in three coat varieties smooth, wirehaired, and longhaired each with its own unique charm. Despite their size, dachshunds are bold and courageous, with a curious nature that can sometimes lead to mischief. Their endearing personality and adaptability make them popular pets worldwide.
