Dachshund Dogs Available for Adoption

Paxon is a sweet 1-year-old Dachshund/Heeler mix (think long body, short legs, and those classic Heeler spots and energy... well, the energy part is on pause right now!). He came to us after being surrendered to animal control by an elderly couple who adored him but couldn't keep up with his puppy zoomies and high spirits. Life threw him a curveball, and now this little guy is showing a much more reserved side—he's nervous, shy, and takes his couch-guarding duties very seriously.

Don't let his cautious start fool you: once he feels safe, Paxon is all about the simple joys. His absolute favorite things are snuggling up on the couch for long cuddle sessions and going on calm, steady walks where he can explore at his own pace. He's a total love bug in the making!

Dog friends: He does well with dogs around his size. Larger dogs, he takes a little longer to warm up too.

Kids: He can be great with children, but he thrives best in a calm, quiet home where things aren't too chaotic while he builds confidence and adjusts.

Ideal home: A patient family (or individual/couple) who understands shy dogs, is committed to slow introductions, positive reinforcement training, and daily walks. If you're looking for a loyal companion who will eventually melt into your lap and follow you from room to room. Paxon currently lives with 5 children ages 13-2 and 2 dogs. One is much larger than him and one is slightly bigger. Both puppies, ages 9 mo and 5 mo old.

The adoption fee is $375.00. All animals are up to date on vaccinations, microchipped, and spayed/neutered.
