Professional Best Friend, Certified Short Stack!
Brownie is about 1½ years old, 24 pounds, and what we believe is likely a doxie mix — low to the ground with the most gorgeous golden coat and a face that seems permanently hopeful. He looks like someone designed a small dog specifically for companionship and then added just enough personality to make him unforgettable.
Brownie is ridiculously affectionate — polite, socially easy, and enthusiastically devoted. He’s the lean-into-your-hands type, the stay-close-to-your-side type, the tell-me-I’m-a-good-boy type. If you’ve got hands, Brownie assumes they were issued for petting him, and honestly he makes a convincing argument. Praise is basically his love language, and you can practically see him light up when he gets attention from his person.
Right now he’s living with a kind gentleman and quite a few other canine friends, cats, even some chickens across the street and Brownie gets along beautifully with everyone. He’s very dog-friendly and socially easygoing, but he’s also confident and people-focused enough to be perfectly happy as an only dog where he can soak up all the attention himself.
He’s already neutered and past the tiny puppy stage, but still young enough to bring that happy, eager energy into everything he does.
Brownie is one of those dogs who feels instantly familiar — like he’s already yours and you just hadn’t met him yet. The kind of dog who follows you from room to room not because he has to, but because you’re his favorite place to be.
If you’ve been waiting for a companion who wants to be near you, who lights up at praise, and who settles in like he’s always belonged — Brownie is the love muffin you’ve been looking for!

The Truth About Rescue:
Every rescue pup is a work in progress — and that’s the beauty of it. None of them come wrapped in a bow, ready-made or mistake-free. They come with stories, quirks, and hearts that have seen a lot but still choose to trust again.
Adoption isn’t about perfection; it’s about presence. Showing up for them, every day, until they know they’re finally home. That’s when you’ll see them bloom — soft and steady — into the very best version of themselves. And somewhere along the way, you’ll realize they were never the only one being rescued.

Once we have received your application, we will review and reach out to set-up an interview with one of our volunteers! If you have additional questions, please email us at SaintMuttsInquiries@gmail.com.
Note: As with all of our rescues, we recommend homes with children 10 years and over to ensure the best fit for both the pets and families involved.
