Dachshund Dogs Available for Adoption

Alfie is 10 weeks old, about 7 pounds, and already operating as a small but mighty curator of Sticks, Rocks, and Emotional Connections.

This tiny weenie mix has spunk, brains, and the kind of personality that makes you laugh without trying. He’ll scoop up a pebble like it’s a rare gemstone, parade it proudly, and then zoom in a tight victory circle because obviously this was a successful acquisition.

But here’s the part that really gets you.

Alfie isn’t a bulldozer personality. He takes a minute. He’ll watch you. He’ll study the room. He prefers a thoughtful introduction rather than a dramatic entrance. And once he decides you’re safe? He melts right in.

If you work from home, he is perfectly content to curl up beside you while you’re on your computer — just quietly existing in your orbit like a tiny, loyal coworker who works strictly in morale support.

He absolutely loves other dogs and finds a lot of confidence in them. Coming from a home with lots of babies, he’s used to having built-in friends. We would love to see him in a home with another dog if possible — he really blossoms with that pack energy around him.

And then there’s his sweetest move.

If another dog has a toy he wants, he doesn’t snatch it. He doesn’t argue. He simply walks over, rolls halfway onto his side next to them, and gives this soft little “we could share this, you know” energy. It’s less theft, more diplomacy. It is heartbreakingly precious.

He’s doing well with crate training, he’s very dog-friendly, and once he warms up, he’s incredibly affectionate and connected.

He’s just… fun.
Easy to love.
Soft-hearted.
So stinking sweet.

You really can’t go wrong with any of these angels — they’ve been very well loved and it shows. But if you’re looking for a smart, slightly thoughtful, toy-negotiating, rock-collecting little sidekick who will happily be your work-from-home assistant…
