Lily is a very happy, sweet and friendly senior short-haired Dachshund who is a total love bug. She came to Cody's when her owner died, leaving Lily and her 3 Dachshund sisters behind. Lilly is now in a loving foster home with her sister, Hannah.
Lily is the outgoing, wiggly greeter of the pair! She lights up when she sees her people and happily asks to be picked up for cuddles. She is extremely people-oriented and forms attachments quickly.
She enjoys walks, is curious about the world around her, and has a playful streak (bird-watching can quickly turn into bird-chasing!). Lily prefers to potty outside and does very well in the backyard. She does not bark excessively outdoors and comes back inside nicely.
Because Lily bonds so strongly with her people, she would especially thrive in a home where someone works from home or is around much of the day. That said, she can adjust to other routines with patience and consistency. One important note: Lily does not do well being confined or closed off alone, as that can trigger anxiety for her. She feels safest when she has access to her people and a predictable routine.
Lily is bonded with her sister, Hannah, and clearly finds comfort in her presence. At the same time, she is very human-focused and capable of forming strong attachments on her own. We believe she could adjust either alongside Hannah or as the only dog in a home that can provide reassurance, companionship, and stability.
If you're looking for an affectionate, devoted little shadow who will adore being part of your daily life, Lily is ready to love you wholeheartedly.
