Dachshund and Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption

Looking for a little shadow with a big heart? Meet 1.5 to 2 year old little Luna! This sweet 18-pound girl is ready to trade her past for a lifetime of love!

Luna came to us from a high-kill shelter in Texas and has quickly shown everyone what a wonderful companion she is. She’s incredibly affectionate and loves being close to her people. She would do best with older children who are dog appropriate. If you’re hoping for a loyal pup who enjoys cuddles and companionship, she will happily volunteer.

She is completely potty trained and very comfortable in her kennel. Car rides were a little scary at first, but now she happily hops in and enjoys the adventure. One of her favorite things in the world is going for walks, and she gets very excited when it’s time to head outside.

She would do best in a home with a dog her size or smaller and would likely enjoy having a canine buddy. She loves her toys, especially chew toys, and bully sticks are definitely a favorite. She is a bit of a chewer, but she redirects easily and listens very well.

*ALL DOGS MUST BE INSIDE COMPANION ANIMALS! They must all be trained with positive reward based training and all are all up to date with vaccinations, altered, microchipped, HeartWorm tested, and on preventatives.

We do not have a facility. All of our animals are in volunteer foster homes. Once an application is pre-approved (contingent upon a home check) we will contact applicants that are a good match and set up a time for a meet. At that time we are happy to answer all of your questions. No inquiries prior to that please. All of our animals are spayed/neutered, examined by a vet, up-to-date on vaccinations, on heartworm and flea/tick preventatives, and microchipped. We adopt our animals as strictly inside companion pets. We will do a veterinarian reference check and a home safety check. We are located in Omaha, NE and we do not ship our animals. We are all volunteers so please be patient with us. Our requested adoption fees help go towards medical expenses, food, transportation, toys, and other supplies for our animals. We are a state licensed, 501c3 nonprofit rescue and the adoption donation may be tax deductible for you.
