Special adoption considerations: Dogs from Puerto Rico have a major transition to go through when they arrive and will need humans who are very committed to socialization. We think this pup would do best with either a resident dog or a family who can make sure she can go on walks regularly with other dogs, visit the dog park, or go to doggie daycare to learn the ropes.

Thelma is Looking For: Her forever home! Thelma is a sato - a dog from Puerto Rico. She landed in care when pregnant, did an amazing job raising her babies, and everyone's off to get their own homes.
Thelma is eager to get her fresh start with her own humans in the DC area. Sniffy walks, romps, all the adventures in her new setting - yes, please! She's a young girl and hasn't seen enough of the world yet. But you know what she wants most of all? To know she's safe and loved, where she belongs.
