It's impossible not to love Brother Bear!
Brother Bear (aka Brother) is estimated to be around 3 months old, and he is a fun guy who loves to play and explore. He is the last boy of the group and is an independent little guy. He is a smart and adventurous puppy who would love an active family to call his own. Brother weighs about 13lbs and we estimate that he will be at least 40-50lbs when fully grown.
Brother and his siblings came to us from our local animal shelter after they were found dumped in rural Yolo County. There were originally 7 puppies, and Brother is one of the last three to find his fur-ever family. These puppies are looking for individual homes so that they can get the one-on-one training and socialization they need to thrive as adults.
Brother is the independent lovebug. He tends to stray away from hanging out with his sisters, but loves to make new human friends and get attention. He is such a sweet boy who thrives on positive reinforcement and is happy to curl up in your lap for cuddles. He is eager to learn, especially if food is involved, and has already mastered some of his basic manners. He needs a family committed to continuing his training to help him grow up to be the best boy he can be.
Brother has done well living with an active small dog and an elderly small dog. He could do well as an only dog or with a playful doggie sibling. We haven't seen Brother around cats, but with a slow introduction, he could do well living with dog-savvy cats. Brother has done great meeting kids and could be a wonderful addition to a family with kids 7 years and older.
Brother has been doing great with his housetraining using a dog door. In a new environment and a new routine, he will have some accidents, but should pick up things quickly with consistency and being rewarded for pottying outside. Brother has never been alone since he is always with his siblings, so he would do best with a family that can slowly acclimate him to being alone.

The Yolo County SPCA is a private, not-for-profit, foster home-based animal rescue organization and does not have a shelter. All our animals awaiting adoption are in foster homes.
Our adoption fees help us cover the cost of spay/neuter surgery, microchip and registration, and rabies vaccination (if over 4 months of age at intake or spay/neuter) for all animals. Dogs are tested for heartworm, started on preventatives, and given a DAPP vaccination. Adult dogs are up to date on their vaccinations prior to adoption. Puppies will be current on the vaccinations appropriate to their age. The adopter is responsible for additional vaccinations as necessary after the adoption.
