As a young dog, Elsa will benefit from continued training to learn basic commands and good manners, helping her become the amazing companion we know she can be. She is eager to please and has all the potential to grow into a well-rounded family member with patience, guidance, and love.

At this time, Elsa has not been around children or cats, so we are unsure how she would do with them. A fenced yard is preferred, giving her a safe place to play, explore, and burn off her youthful energy.

Pet Refuge was formed in 1978 to help with cats and dogs in need of homes. We are a limited admission shelter that supports our local animals control facilities by helping take in the overflow of cats and dogs from their facilities. We also take in owner surrenders as space allows.

The hound dog breed is a diverse group known for their incredible hunting abilities and keen sense of smell. These dogs are esteemed for their athleticism, endurance, and loyalty, making them excellent companions for active individuals and families alike. With a rich history of assisting hunters in tracking and trailing game, hounds possess a strong prey drive and a distinctive bay when on the hunt. Hounds come in various sizes and coat types, each with its unique characteristics, but they all share a remarkable intelligence and a friendly disposition.
