Meet Muffin
Age: 6 years
Breed: Cocker Spaniel
Muffin is a sweet, gentle Cocker Spaniel with a tender heart and a thoughtful nature. She’s a quiet observer who takes her time learning about new environments, carefully soaking everything in at her own pace. Muffin appreciates having a safe, cozy spot to retreat to, but when she feels comfortable, she’ll venture out to explore and sniff around with curiosity.
Good With:
Dogs: Neutral and observant; she watches calmly but keeps her distance
People: Needs patient, experienced adopters
Training & Home Life:
Muffin is eating consistently, though cautiously. She eagerly eats wet food and will eat her dry food later at night when the house is quiet and she feels less observed. She prefers to eat on her own and has recently begun eating without encouragement, which is a big step forward.
Muffin willingly stays in her crate and settles immediately when inside—it’s clearly her safe space. She sleeps in the crate and appears restless overnight, likely due to stress and anxiety. She will walk on leash in the backyard. There’s no pulling or reactivity—just caution and uncertainty.
Why You’ll Love Muffin:
Muffin is not a dog who will rush into your arms—but she is a dog whose trust, once earned, will mean everything. She’s scared, not broken. Behind her trembling is a quiet, observant girl who watches toys roll by with interest and seems like she wants to play, even if she’s not ready yet.
*Muffin will need a calm, predictable home, ideally with someone experienced in fearful dogs—someone who understands that progress may be slow, nonlinear, and deeply meaningful. For the right person, helping Muffin feel safe for the first time will be an incredibly rewarding journey.*
