Background:
Roger’s entire life has been defined by loyalty. As a puppy, he followed an older gentleman home one day… and simply never left his side. That man became his whole world, and Roger repaid that love with unwavering devotion every single day.
When his dad passed away, Roger stayed with his dad’s sister — a woman who loved him deeply and did everything she could to keep him safe and cherished. As her health declined, she made the most heartbreaking and selfless decision imaginable: to ask for help finding Roger a better life, because she knew he deserved more than she could give. Letting him go was an act of love.
Despite the loss and change, Roger has adjusted beautifully in foster care. He is calm, gentle, and endlessly kind. In a foster home with over 30 dogs, he gets along with everyone without issue, quietly choosing peace over chaos. He’s neutered, heartworm negative, crate trained, and walks beautifully on a leash — the kind of dog who makes everything feel easier just by being there.
Roger doesn’t ask for much. He’s happiest right beside his humans, soaking in their presence. He enjoys slow, peaceful walks, cozy beds, and soft games of tug. He’ll rest his head on your lap, lean into your touch, and look at you like you’re his entire world — because once you’re his person, you truly are. Roger has been loved his whole life. Now, through no fault of his own, he’s waiting for the next chapter. He doesn’t need excitement or adventure — just a forever family to love him through the rest of his years, the way he loves so completely in return.
