Meet Slade

Just shy of 2 years old, Slade is a handsome chocolate Lab with striking ember eyes and a drive that could become something truly special in the right hands. This energetic boy is looking for a special family experienced with working breeds and their high energy levels.

Slade truly shines in one-on-one settings, where his focus is impressive and his eagerness to engage is clear. Add in a few distractions, though, and his playful, puppy-like nature still takes over — he’s young, enthusiastic, and still learning to channel all that energy appropriately.

His leash manners are decent, but he’ll need continued work on his heel command. He knows “sit” and “down,” especially when treats are involved, though he can show a bit of a stubborn streak. With consistent reinforcement, structure, and positive training, Slade has all the potential to grow into an incredible companion.

He would thrive in an active home that can provide:

Consistent training and clear boundaries

Plenty of physical exercise

Mental stimulation and structured activities

An experienced handler who understands working-drive dogs

Available for Transportation in VA, PA, CT, VT, NY, UT, ID, OR, TX, WA, TN, KY, IN, IL, WI, MN & OH. (predetermined locations and time) The adoption & Transportation ranges from $100-500.
Private custom transport routes and destinations available upon request with financial responsibility on Adopted family.
While this dog/cat is protected in our care, there are many others waiting for their opportunity to enter a program like this one and be given a second chance.
Our Animals are brought to you in transport buses or Vans equipped with air conditioning for comfort and onboard attendants providing 24 hour care. Pick up day is unforgettable! You will get to follow along on their journey through a private FB Event page, where you will see photos, have the opportunity to connect with other adopters, and receive updates and constant communication along the way. Our Adoption Coordinator will help to find the closest transport pick up location to you!
For those being picked up at our Angleton, Tx location $75. This includes all vetting: DAPP, Bordetella, Rabies vaccine, spay/neuter, flea prevention, heartworm testing and prevention, micro-chipping, a collar, and many years of laughs and love to come!

We know our dogs very well and have spent countless hours with them, learning all of their quirks and goofy personalities. We have a team of dedicated animal care professionals that work day in and day out to bring every Little Hero out of their shell. From the moment they are accepted into our program we provide behavior & medical care to prepare them for adoption by properly vetting, behaviorally training, and providing social enrichment. We provide socialization for our dogs through playgroups and one on one bonding time, where we will also work on their other skills such as leash training and basic commands. Our goal is to adopt to families who understand that these are rescue dogs and will require continued training efforts and just want someone to be understanding with them, but will be well on their way to being the best dogs that they can be!
