Benji is a 9-year-old sweetheart with the gentlest soul and the biggest heart. If you’re looking for a calm, loving companion who still has a playful spark, Benji is your guy!

Originally rescued in Texas, he has quickly proven himself to be the SWEETEST dog. Benji loves being around his people and is happiest when he’s close by, ready to offer soft kisses and a wagging tail. While he was a TINY bit shy when meeting new people at first, it only takes a few minutes for his personality to start shining through. After a few days of fostering he’s coming out of his shell more each day, greeting the world with more confidence and excitement.

Benji does great with other dogs and has done well with children so far. He has a calm, easygoing demeanor but still enjoys playtime and little bursts of fun. On walks, he’s a dream! He stays focused with minimal pulling or sniff stops and has the cutest little trot that’s guaranteed to make you smile.

He’s also a wonderful house guest. Benji sleeps quietly in his crate at night and is perfectly content to relax there during the day, too. He’s doing great with potty habits — he goes quickly when taken outside and has already improved at letting us know when he needs to go out.

At 9 years young, Benji is the perfect mix of mellow and playful. He’s ready to find a forever home where he can continue to blossom, share his sweetness, and be someone’s loyal companion.
