Chiweenie and Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption

Ricky is a 6.5‑month‑old Chiweenie mix (Chihuahua + Dachshund) little boy with a heart as warm as his beautiful red coat. Weighing just 14lbs, he’s the perfect travel buddy, lap companion, and all‑around snuggle expert. He will probably max out around 17-18lbs when he is fully grown.

This tiny guy had a rough start — he was found as a stray, lovingly “looked after” by a group of bigger stray dogs on the streets. Despite that, Ricky’s spirit is gentle, tender, and incredibly loving.

💛 What Makes Ricky So Special:

- A little shy at first, but once he feels safe, he blossoms — playing with balls, rolling over for belly rubs, and giving the sweetest neck‑nuzzle hugs.

- Family‑friendly and adored by kids — he was a big hit and crowd fave at a recent adoption event.

- Medium energy: he enjoys daily playtime, puppy hops after balls, and loves his walks.

- Learning leash skills, crate trained, and about 90% house‑trained with a good potty schedule.

- Looks absolutely adorable in sweaters and jackets.

- His breed mix typically enjoys a long lifespan (12–16 years), making him a wonderful long‑term companion. Ricky is neutered, microchipped and up-to-date on vaccinations.

Currently this dog is being fostered at our Rescue Ranch near Houston, TX but can be brought close to your home on rescue transport which comes through your area once a month. Transport info below.

Adoption fee is $395 plus $30 for a health certificate and $250 for transport.

Understanding transport: Once everything is all approved, dogs are scheduled on transport using AJC Rescue & Transport (https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100083418067425). Transport means dogs are carefully and thoughtfully moved via scheduled air conditioned/heated vans from our doggy ranch in Fulshear, TX to a location near you. Each transport consists of a team of two drivers who can alternate. This is how we communicate in real time. The driver who is not driving, will be updating the group chat. You will be included in this group chat to track your dog through transport. You will also be given exact location and scheduled time of arrival. Our drivers do everything possible to run on-time however, things such as traffic, weather etc. can affect arrival time. You will updated regarding delays or possible early arrival. Keep in mind, dogs on transport stop for bathroom, walk and food breaks. For safety, all dogs are crated during transport.
