Meet Dillon — aka “Silly Dilly”

If you’re looking for a dog with big personality packed into a fun little package, look no further. Dillon — lovingly dubbed “Silly Dilly” by his foster mom — is a five-year-old Chihuahua mix who is equal parts chaos gremlin and couch potato, and he wouldn’t have it any other way.

Dillon is the life of the party. He’s spunky, funny, and genuinely happy-go-lucky — the kind of dog who makes you laugh just by existing. He loves to play with stuffed toys, probably because he relates to them on a spiritual level. He’s great with other dogs, cats, and respectful kids. He’s mostly potty trained, sleeps beautifully in his crate at night, and during his downtime? He is deeply committed to napping. Olympic-level sleeping. Do not disturb.

Dillon is a lover, and once he picks his person, he picks them hard. Like, “that’s MY human and I will be making an announcement” hard. He guards the people and things he loves — food, toys, you, your spot on the couch — so he’ll do best in a home that understands this and can work with him consistently. He also gets a little dramatic when you first leave the house or put him in his crate (cue the tiny, betrayed sighs), but he does settle in. He just needs a moment to process the audacity.

Dillon isn’t looking for just anyone. He’s looking for his person — someone who wants a funny, devoted, slightly opinionated little sidekick who will make them laugh every single day. If that sounds like you, Silly Dilly has been waiting his whole life to find you.

Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most of the dogs, we are only guessing at the predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.

We expect that all adopted dogs will enroll in a formal dog training class with their new owners. Obedience and training classes are an excellent way to learn more about your newly adopted dog, gain handling and training experience, and improve your relationship with your pet.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.
