Meet June Bug

June Bug is a 4-year-old, 7-pound black-and-white Chihuahua with a spirit that shines brighter than most. Found as a stray, she had already endured more than any dog ever should. She came to us with one eye missing and the other ruptured beyond repair. That eye had to be removed as well, leaving June Bug completely blind.

But here’s the incredible part… she doesn’t let that slow her down one bit.

This tiny girl gets around just fine and navigates her world with bravery, curiosity, and heart. She quickly maps out her surroundings and moves with confidence once she feels safe. She may not see the world, but she feels it deeply — especially when she’s curled up in your lap soaking up love.

June Bug is affectionate, gentle, smart, independent when she wants to be, and a proud little couch potato when snuggle time rolls around. She’s very social with new people and greets them with sweetness and trust. She lives peacefully with both dogs and cats and does just fine with them.

She is crate trained and mostly potty trained with only rare accidents. She responds well to gentle verbal correction and truly aims to please.

June Bug would thrive in a quiet home with a securely fenced yard (about a 3-foot standard fence is fine). She does love to adventure outside, taking in all the smells and sounds of the world. Because she is completely blind, she will need a patient, understanding adopter who will give her time to learn her surroundings and feel safe. She cannot go to a home with young children, as predictability and calm are very important for her.

Despite everything she’s been through, June Bug is friendly, loving, brave, and full of life. She has many good years ahead of her — years filled with lap naps, gentle kisses, and the quiet joy of simply being loved.

She may not see you… but she will know you. And she will love you with her whole heart.
