Chihuahua Dogs Available for Adoption

Brave little hearts come in tiny bodies — and I’m living proof. I’m Willa — a 7 year old, 12 pound Chihuahua with a soft soul and a story that takes a little time to understand. I was found abandoned on a property with 6–7 other Chihuahuas, and when help finally arrived, I was terrified. I even bit the person who got the lead on me… but there’s something important you should know: I wasn’t being “mean.” I was protecting something I loved. Sadly, I was found guarding a dead puppy lying beside me. My whole world had already fallen apart, and I didn’t know if the humans coming toward me were there to hurt me too. Because of everything I’ve been through, I can be very scared, nervous, and unsure in new places and around new people. I need adopters who understand that trust isn’t instant for me — it’s something I build slowly, one safe moment at a time. The beautiful part is that once I decompress and feel safe, I turn into the sweetest little love bug. I’ve already started showing who I really am — and I love curling up for naps on a lap more than anything. That’s the real Willa. The one who just wants to be loved and feel safe. I’m currently working on my house training, crate training, and leash training, and I’m making progress. I also do well with other dogs, cats, and respectful older kids, which is a big win for a tiny girl like me. My ideal home is a calm one — not an apartment — with a privacy-fenced yard where I can safely explore and take my time adjusting. Most of all, I need people who are patient, gentle, and willing to let me set the pace. If you’re the kind of person who believes the best relationships are built on trust… and you want a little companion who will adore you once she feels safe… I promise I’ll be worth the wait.

As a senior my adoption fee is $75 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip!
