DESCRIPTION
Some dogs are naturally timid or shy, while others may not have learned to trust people while they were young. These dogs need to feel safe before they will interact with people. Chicken Little Dogs: are fearful of new people and places, take time to trust, shut down here at the shelter, and will bite if people push or try to interact too quickly. However, once they trust a person, the often become very bonded. OTHER PETS: London had some interest in meeting other dogs, but was a little unsure of how to interact. She would likely do best with a calm dog to help her feel more comfortable. [Case-By-Case (Must Meet First)] OWNER EXPERIENCE: London is a younger dog that is generally nervous around new people and environments. She would make a good fit for someone that can be dedicated to establishing trust and helping her build her confidence, and while it's not a requirement, someone that has experience with timid dogs may have an easier adjustment period. [First Dog / Some Experience] KIDS: London is sensitive to loud noises and can be uncomfortable being handled by people she doesn't know yet. She would likely do best in a home without a lot of foot traffic, with kids that are old enough to understand how best to interact with her and when to let her have her own space. [15+ (Must Meet First)] ACTIVITY LEVEL: London hasn't shown much interest in toys during her time at TJO, but she does enjoy spending time with and cuddling up to her favorite people! Once she's comfortable with someone, she's a total lap dog that's more than happy to follow them around from room to room, though her energy level could change once she's settled into a new home. [Couch Potato] VETERINARY CARE: [Routine] LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED: London is still at the beginning of her training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while she adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help London not only learn her basic cues, but also help her to feel more comfortable and build her confidence! It will provide a good opportunity for her to bond with her new owner as well. [Minimal] GROOMING: [Minimal]
