Thelma has been in foster care for about three months, and while she is still very scared, she is making beautiful, hard-won progress. She has bravely gone from being so terrified she would have accidents when picked up, to now being glued to her foster's side when taken out of her safe area. She is still learning how to trust-she won't come when called or take treats from a hand just yet-so she needs an understanding adopter who will give her all the space and time she requires to get comfortable in her own skin. Beneath that fear is a gentle, low-key soul who does wonderfully around preteens and other animals, and who absolutely loves to burrow deep under the blankets to feel secure.
