Meet Emerald! Emerald is one of five puppies born to mama Gemma (her little gemstones) on November 19, 2025. Gemma was rescued as a very pregnant stray and delivered her puppies just a few days after being rescued. The puppies are full of kisses, cuddles, and mischief! Mama Jade is a short-haired Chihuahua mix, but we aren't sure what dad is; Emerald is the puppy that looks most like mama with little white "socks" on her paws. She currently weighs just under four-pounds. Emerald is a great combo of playful and sweet. She loves to chase toys and run with her siblings, but also loves to snuggle with her humans.
Remember that while puppies are cute, they are also work! Please make sure you are ready for the commitment of adopting a young dog. Puppies become adult dogs and are meant to be loved for their whole life, not just until they grow up. Puppies will need lots of patience to help them learn their best doggy manners, leash-training, and house-training.
Adoption fees are $500 per puppy and include vaccinations, microchip, and eventual alter surgery at the PAWS clinic on Cave Creek Road in Phoenix. Per our vet, we do not alter puppies until around five months, which helps with hormone development and bone growth. Adopters will sign a contract that you will bring your puppy to the PAWS clinic for spay/neuter surgery, sometime in April 2026.
