🐶 Basics
● Dog’s Name: Oshy
● Age / Size: 5y / M / 12lbs
● Rescued in Texas
💛 Personality Snapshot
● Describe in 3–5 words: A sweet and cuddly boy with such joyful energy
● Energy level (Low / Moderate / High): Moderate indoor /high outside
● More people‑oriented or independent? More people oriented
● How do they handle new situations? He seems to adjust quickly to new surroundings. He is very motivated by food, so treats are a great way to build a bond with him
🐕 Social & Home Life
● How are they with people (adults/kids/new people)? He gets along well with kids and new people. When he’s at the park, he likes to stop by each bench to say hi to everyone lol
● How are they with other dogs? He is interested in some dogs, and I can see him becoming more playful when there is more than one dog at home. At the dog park, he seems to prefer people more over dogs
● Behavior when left alone or when guests visit: I left him alone for 10 to 20 minutes a few times and didn’t notice any signs of separation anxiety. He just waited by the door
🎓 Training & Manners
● Potty trained? House broken
● Crate trained? Unknown
● Leash skills: He’s usually well-behaved, but he tends to walk in a zigzag because he wants to sniff everything;)
● Commands known (if any): None
🌞 Daily Life
● Typical day with you: Weekends -we start with a morning walk, then breakfast and a nap. Around noon, we go for another walk, followed by lunch and some playtime. Later, we visit the dog park, have dinner, and finish the day with a night walk
● Exercise needs: I’ve been walking him 4 times a day. I’ve only had Oshy for 2 days, but he gets really excited when I put on the jacket because he knows it means we’re going for a walk
● Favorite activities or toys: Looking for treats in the treat blanket and playing with toys
🌱 Growth Areas
● Anything they’re still working on? He has no trouble going up and down the outdoor stairs, but he won’t use the indoor ones. I tried using treats to get him onto the 1st step, but it was not successful beyond that. We'll work on it.
🏡 Ideal Home
● Only dog / With dog / Either: I think he would do well in families of any size, whether he is the only dog or has one other dog
● Good fit for apartment living? As long as he gets regular walks and enough exercise, I don't think the size of your space or the type of house really matters
● Best type of household (active, moderate, calm): active and moderate
● What kind of adopter would be the best match? He would love a home with someone who can give him lots of attention, walks, and playtime. He would also be a wonderful companion for kids who enjoy playing with dogs
💙 Foster Note
He has such joyful energy and loves being around people. His happy spirit and affectionate personality make him impossible not to love. He’s also quite the jumper. He can jump surprisingly high when he gets excited, especially when it’s time to eat;) I think anyone who meets him and considers adopting him will fall in love instantly.
**Oshy previously tested positive for heartworm and was treated before he left Texas**
