Meet Gordo. Yes, the name fits. No, he is not offended. In fact, Gordo is living proof that a little extra “fluff” simply means there’s more dog to love.
Gordo is a 5-year-old, 16-pound Chihuahua who has perfected the fine art of comfortable living. He is an easygoing, social little guy who does great with other dogs and prefers a household that appreciates the slower, cozier side of life.
His daily schedule is very demanding:
• Toddle around the yard
• Check for snacks
• Toddle around the yard again
• Nap on the couch
• Nap under his blanket
• Possibly nap under a different blanket
Gordo is a professional blanket burrower. If you lose him in the house, don’t panic. Just look for a suspicious lump in a blanket and you will likely find a tiny snout poking out like a periscope.
Outside, Gordo enjoys waddling… excuse us… gracefully strolling around the yard, taking in the sights and smells. He does like to play a little, but mostly he’s there for yard patrol and fresh air. Because of this, a physically fenced yard is required for him.
Inside the house, Gordo is a dream roommate. He is housetrained, free to roam, and very well-mannered. He will politely bark to let you know he needs to go outside, but otherwise he is a quiet little guy, not one of those Chihuahuas who narrates every moment of the day.
Gordo loves being near his people. He’s not demanding about it, he just enjoys hanging out nearby while you watch TV, read, or do whatever humans do when they are not providing snacks.
Speaking of snacks… Gordo’s current “dad bod” happened because he was very loved with people food in his past life. We are now working on a healthier lifestyle, but he would not object if his new family helped him continue his wellness journey with proper meals, yard strolls, and maybe the occasional tiny treat. Very tiny. We’re watching the waistline here.
If you’re looking for a low-key, sweet, slightly chubby couch companion who doubles as a blanket burrito, Gordo may be your guy.
Gordo is neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested, and microchipped.
