Meet Ellie!
Ellie is a 15-year-old, 17-pound Chihuahua mix with the deep soulful eyes and an uncanny sense of smell like a scent hound. She doesn't miss a single good smell, but she never begs. Ellie is a lady.
Her superpower is her amazing youthfulness! Ellie has been running us off our feet on her daily walks, scampering up and down the stairs and jumping in the car for rides like nobody told her she was supposed to be slowing down by now. She is all lean muscle and ready for adventures. But her demeanor is quiet and patient. She'll lie on her bed in her enclosure until she sees her leash, and then come out with her tail wagging. She's fantastic at getting her business done in minutes when she gets outside, which is great when you don't have time for a long walk. Ellie seems to be house trained, but she's been kept in an enclosure with pee pads because we haven't perfected her schedule and she has had some morning and afternoon slip-ups. Now that she's become more comfortable here, she has been working on telling us that she wants to go outside.
Ellie gets along with all the dogs she meets, and every human too. She is calm and reserved with everyone, and when she's gotten to know you, you will be greeted with a wagging tail. Ellie loves gentle pets and attention. She has begun to enjoy sitting on our laps and watching TV, but her favorite thing of all is mealtime. Ellie loves her meals and gets visibly happy when she's given treats. She is an easy to please, easy to take care of and easy to love dog who doesn't require a lot but gives her all.
If you are looking for someone to provide quiet company, a partner for walks & couch surfing, and the most low maintenance dog around, Ellie is your girl. She is currently being fostered in Bucks County, PA and her adoption fee is $375.
"To adopt this animal, please visit https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt
All of our animals come spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, are microchipped, heartworm negative, current on flea/tick and heartworm prevention, dewormed, and treated for any ailments found upon veterinary examination. The adoption fee covers a portion of these services, and makes it possible for us to continue rescuing animals.
For more information on the adoption fees and the adoption process, please complete our adoption application here: https://www.louieslegacy.org/adopt - an application allows us to get to know your family better so we can assess whether the animal you are interested in is a good match for your home. An application does not obligate you to adopt. Please understand that due to the volume of applications some animals receive, we are unable to contact all applicants. If your application is considered a good fit for the animal you are interested in, or even a different pet, a volunteer will give you a call as soon as possible.
We are a foster based rescue and do not have a shelter location where animals can be seen during the week. Please see our Facebook page at https://www.facebook.com/LouiesLegacy for our weekly adoption album if you are interested in meeting an animal in person. Not all animals attend every adoption event, please check our Facebook page for animal event times and locations before you make a trip to meet a specific animal."
