Animal Information: Tiny is an estimated 2-year-old chihuahua terrier mix currently weighing approximately 12 lbs. She is shy at first, but friendly with people and other dogs.
Foster Profile:
Meet Tiny! Tiny is hilarious, sweet, and utterly delightful who has become a quick favorite in her foster family. She brings all the classic Fox Terrier energy: sharp, a bit spicy, full of energy, and an easy student. She looks to her people for leadership making her a quick study. She has a strong will, but is responsive enough to not be called stubborn.
At home, Tiny is settling in beautifully. She's doing great with potty training, a couple of early accidents as she got her bearings, but quickly learning the ropes. She sleeps through the night in her crate and settles well, though she may vocalize a bit when first left alone before working through it. She handles tethering time in her bed like a pro, eats well, already knows sit, wait, and has good recall. She doesn't currently have couch privileges but has enjoyed lap time with foster mom and the carrier sling. Bath time was not her favorite, but at 12 lbs she's easily managed.
On walks, she gets excited by normal world triggers but hasn't shown true reactivity. She's just an alert, engaged little terrier doing terrier things. She's picking up leash manners quickly and should continue building her command vocabulary with consistent training. She also has the cutest snoot that will not quit and could be a fantastic candidate for nose work or agility with the right owner.
Tiny is playful with her foster mom and foster brother, though she hasn't shown much interest in toys or fetch yet, likely just still settling in. She has the potential to do well with another dog given a slow, thoughtful introduction, but she'd be equally well suited as a solo dog.
Tiny's ideal home is someone who appreciates a small dog with enormous personality, is ready to continue her training momentum, and would love to explore enrichment like nose work or agility.
