Chihuahua and Rat Terrier Dogs Available for Adoption in San Francisco, California

As a senior Jack Russell-chi mix, Pauline is a peppy realist with a lot of can-do energy who will hit the brakes for lap-based love-ins. Vision impaired, short on teeth, working her way back from some hair loss, she's not so much a fur baby as a fur grown up, and she likes it that way. She gets around like a regular youth, has an essential chill that may reflect a strong spiritual practice, and gets along great with dogs and people. She's also got pair of fetching freckles on her nose, doesn't do stairs, and melts into a good scritch. If the Golden Girls had a dog, it would be Pauline. Come and get her!

Pauline is a lovable little lap dog. She wakes me up with kisses...literally. She's so friendly. She wants to be the center of attention always. Yes, she's seeing impaired.... But that doesn't stop her from engaging, from being attentive and just the most loving little girl ever.

Pauline is simply fearless. She loves to go outside for walks, her tail wags from the moment she hits the pavement. I'm constantly amazed by her. One of the things I love to do with her is I step really quickly in front of her and she goes directly into a play position where she just mimics my stepping movements. It's the most adorable thing I've ever seen.

She also loves playing with a squishy toy that hides treats I'll slip a few of her favorite treats inside called mini Zukes and she will find them all. I understand it's great for seeing impaired dogs as it stimulates their minds.

The Chihuahua is a small breed famous for its confidence, loyalty, and big personality, despite its tiny size. Originating from Mexico, these dogs are known for their large, expressive eyes and alert, curious nature. Chihuahuas make excellent companions, forming strong bonds with their owners and displaying a protective nature. With a compact and muscular build, these dogs are energetic and make excellent companions for active individuals and families. Rat Terriers are adept at a variety of activities, from hunting to obedience training, thanks to their keen intelligence and eager to please nature. Their short coat requires minimal grooming, making them low maintenance pets. Overall, the Rat Terrier is a spirited and loyal breed, well suited to various lifestyles.
