Chihuahua and Pomeranian Dogs Available for Adoption

Those EARS! Oreo is a super adorable, scruffy 4-month-old puppy. But he is also very nervous. This chihuahua/pomeranian mix puppy came in with his father and sister.

He has not been socialized and will need someone patient to teach him that the world isn't as big and scary as it seems. When he is with his family, she is a playful, silly, typical puppy, but on his own he is very frightened. He would likely do best in a quiet home with adults only or older kids who understand that he will need time to come out of her shell. He might be OK with a dog or cat if given time to acclimate. Once he settles in, he promises to be a fun little companion!

We never know how quickly a pet will be adopted. Therefore, if you are interested in a pet but want to see them during our shelter open hours prior to filling out an application, we strongly recommend that you email us at adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org before visiting the shelter to ensure they are still there.

Open hours are Wednesdays 1:30-6pm, and Saturdays and Sundays 10am-2pm for you to come view our adoptable pets. You can apply for animal at the shelter during our open hours or online by emailing adopt@scituateanimalshelter.org and asking for an application. Adoption fees allow our non-profit to continue to help pets in need.

Meet and greets with animals are scheduled after applications have been processed and we’ve determined you are the best fit. We do not operate on a first come, first served basis.

They come in a variety of coat colors and patterns, with both long and short coats, making them a diverse and adorable addition to any family.

The Pomeranian is a small dog breed known for its vibrant personality and fluffy coat. Originating from Pomerania in Central Europe, these dogs are intelligent, alert, and exceptionally friendly, making them excellent companions for both individuals and families. Pomeranians require regular grooming to maintain their luxurious double coat, which can come in various colors. Despite their small size, they are lively and confident, often displaying a curious nature and playful demeanor that endears them to their owners.
