Hi… it’s CJ.

I’m an 8-month-old Chihuahua mix, about 10 pounds, with a soft heart that feels everything deeply. I’m still just a baby, but my first few months of life were not easy, and I’m still learning how to feel safe in the world.

I am neutered, vaccinated, microchipped, and house-trained.

I’m originally from Southern California and currently living with my foster family in Ridgefield, WA. For the right family, I can also travel to Vancouver, BC.

My Story

I came from a place where my mom, my siblings, and many other dogs were left behind… without care, without safety.

Before we were rescued, I remember loud voices, fear, and uncertainty. Even though I was very young, those feelings stayed with me. They taught me to be careful… to take my time… to protect my heart.

So when I meet new people, I don’t run up right away.
I might step back.
I might watch quietly.

I need a little time to understand that I am safe.

But please don’t mistake my shyness for distance.

I want love—I just need to feel safe first.

I do love treats (a lot!), and that’s one of the ways to win me over. I’ll come closer, gently, and let you pet me once I feel comfortable. And each time you show me kindness, I get a little braver.

Who I Am

I’m a gentle, loving puppy who bonds deeply.

Once I trust you… everything changes.

If you pick me up, I melt completely. My body relaxes, my worries fade, and I become calm and peaceful in your arms—like I’ve finally found where I belong.

From that moment on, I’ll stay close.
I’ll follow you.
I’ll watch you.

The Fox Terrier is a small, energetic, and intelligent breed known for its distinctive appearance, with smooth or wirehaired coat varieties. Fox Terriers are fearless and playful, making them excellent companions for active families. Their history lies in hunting foxes, reflected in their high prey drive and need for mental and physical stimulation. They are loyal and affectionate towards their owners but may show dominance over other dogs. Regular exercise and training are essential for a well balanced Fox Terrier.
